What is Zingo?
Zingo is an open-source, non-custodial wallet built by ZingoLabs. While Zashi focuses on simplicity, Zingo focuses on flexibility and resilience. It fully supports the latest Zcash innovations, including Unified Addresses (UA) and the Orchard shielded pool, ensuring you always have the highest level of anonymity available.
Unified Addresses
Zingo generates a single address that can receive Transparent (t), Sapling (z), or Orchard (u) funds, automatically upgrading privacy where possible.
High Performance
Uses the "pepper-sync" engine, allowing you to spend funds before the blockchain sync is fully complete, maximizing throughput.
Setup Guide
1 Step 1: Download & Install
Zingo is available across mobile and desktop platforms.
Mobile
Android: Google Play Store.
iOS: Apple App Store.
Desktop
Linux / Windows / Mac: Download the latest binaries from the Official Zingo Website.
2 Step 2: Wallet Initialization
Upon launching Zingo, you are presented with options to start fresh or restore.
- Create New: Select "Create New Wallet".
- Seed Phrase: Zingo will display your 24-word recovery phrase. Write this down on paper. It is the only way to access your funds if your device is lost.
- Syncing: Zingo connects to a LightwalletD server. Wait for the sync bar to complete (usually very fast due to pepper-sync).
3 Step 3: Receiving with Unified Addresses
Zingo simplifies receiving by using Unified Addresses (UA).
- Tap "Receive".
- You will see a QR code starting with `u1...`. This is a Unified Address.
- How it works: You can give this single address to anyone. If they send from a transparent wallet, it receives transparently. If they send from a shielded wallet, it receives privately into your Orchard pool.
4 Step 4: Sending & Memos
Spending Zcash with Zingo is private by default.
1. Tap "Send".
2. Paste the recipient's address (Unified, Sapling, or Transparent).
3. Enter the Amount.
4. Memo Field: If sending to a shielded address (UA or Sapling), you can write a private text message here. This is encrypted on the blockchain.
5. Send: Zingo constructs the transaction using Zero-Knowledge Proofs (zk-SNARKs) and broadcasts it.
Where to Spend Zcash
Zcash offers optional privacy. Use it to securely store value or swap for Monero (XMR) to use on these markets.
